Polls and Quizzes
Polls can be published in chat in real-time or scheduled for the future, for one chat or hundreds of them simultaneously. You can use different types of polls for different occasions.
Many polls can be published in a chat at the same time—users need to swipe them to choose in which poll they would like to participate.
General
Only public polls are available. Also, you can schedule for the future as many polls as you wish or display several polls at the same time. Also, you can collect users' opinions or publish a series of polls for higher engagement.
Once a poll is published, a notification appears in the top right corner of the chat.
Roles and rights
You can create polls using a chat interface or the admin panel. Admins and moderators can create polls and edit them through the chat interface, delete and complete someone else’s polls. All users can participate in polls.
Creating a poll
You can publish a poll right after creating it or schedule it for future publishing. For that, you have to open the Widgets > Polls and Quizzes tab and click the ‘Create’ button.
After opening the initial page for a poll creation, you need to choose which poll type you need: a standalone poll (contains only one question) or a series of questions (can include up to 5 questions in a row).
**Then add questions and answers. **
For a standalone poll, you need to add only one question.
For a series, please add several questions in a row. They will be displayed for users in the same order you added them.
Decide if you want to add an image to the question and check the preview. Then, add a question and choose what kind of poll you want:
- quiz (means that the poll has a correct answer/answers). You need to select which one is correct. Add images to all answers, if needed.
- poll means that there is no correct or incorrect answer. You can add images to all answers.
- rating scale means that users need to give an answer by moving the scale; you have three options for it: 3, 5, or 10-scale.
To all types of polls, you can add a field or the user's custom answer. To add it, move the toggle add the custom answer. Please limit the number of characters for it.
When your questions are ready, proceed to the display settings.
The display period proposed three options to you:
- Always — to show the poll constantly (can be deactivated manually)
- Custom period — choose the period from date to date to show the poll.
- One day — to show the poll just on this particular day.
Then, decide how to display it during the selected period:
- Always— means that your polls will be available constantly during the chosen period.
- Briefly each day—means that you can specify a time range for the poll showing in a chat. For example, on the previous step, you chose to show it for 2 weeks, and here you can set up showing of this poll just between 2 and 5 pm.
Then, add RoomID where you want to publish it. RoomID (or room titles) can be added manually. Also, you can upload the list of room IDs as a CSV file.
DON'T FORGET TO ACTIVATE THE POLL TO MAKE IT PUBLIC. If needed, you can deactivate it anytime.
You can also deactivate and activate a poll from the list.
The list of polls
Here, you can check and manage all polls published in your chats.
You can edit them, if needed, download the list of participants, and duplicate the poll if you want to reuse it. After duplicating, don't forget to update the date and time, and activate the poll.
You can also fully delete the poll by clicking a red button and confirming the action.
