What do users see upon their first entry into a chat?
There are three toggles:
- onboarding
- short rules
- toast with a chat name
You can enable all three of them or select a needed.
Onboarding
Suitable for services that don't transfer names and avatars to chats. Onboarding allows users to create a name and choose an avatar before entering a chat.
You can provide this screen even if your users have their own avatar but you prefer to give them an opportunity to set new avatars and nicknames for staying anonymous. This option become crucial if you don’t have the platform’s nicknames and avatars or don’t transmit them to us. In this case, if you disable this toggle, users will get default avatars and names.
An opportunity to change names and pics after settings depends on other toggles which allows you to restrict users to change avatars and nicknames or opposite.

Short chat rules while entering
A short version of chat rules with a link to the full text. This is shown to users when they enter a chat.
If you want to show users a brief summary of the chat rules, along with a link to the full list of rules, and/or ask them to accept the rules, please enable this toggle. It will be shown to users only once when they enter the chat for the first time.
The short rules are always the same and not customisable (but still they automatically localised to other languages you use on the platform and transmit to us with GET parameters), but you can change the acceptance text and add a link to the agreement or other documents (Settings > Language and Localization > Chat Rules).

Display a Nickname Toast
If you enable this toggle, your users will receive a toast message "Your chat name is—%chat_name%" whenever they enter the chat or move from room to room. This is important when you transmit users’ nicknames from the main profile. Sometimes users don’t remember what they used for the login on the main platform, so it’s crucial to remind them of their name to avoid sharing sensitive information.
If you’ve already activated the onboarding feature, you don’t need to turn this toggle on.
